Avro Lancaster Mk.III AJ-P (ED909) "Peter", better known as "Popsie", has been delivered on 30 April 1943.

It took part to the famed the Dambusters raid, on the night between 16th and 17th May, 1943. It attacked the Mohne dam, being the third plane to reach it and missing the target.

At the moment of the Raid, the pilot was Harold Brownlow Morgan Martin, Flight Lieutenant, from Darling Point, Sydney.

Navigator was Flight Lieutenant Jack Frederick Leggo from Sidney.

Bomb aimer was Flight Lieutenand Robert Claude Hay from Renmark (SA).

Flight Engeneer was Pilot officer Ivan Whittaker, British.

Wireless operator was Flying Officer Len Chambers from Karamea, New Zealand.

Front gunner was Pilot Officer Bertie Towner Foxlee from Queensland.

Rear gunner was Flight Sergeant Thomas Drayton Simpson from Hobart, Tasmania.
